| Ada M. Fisher is a Republican (of 30 years) running for the
NC House 77th District Seat. Ada had instilled in her early on through the Baptist upbringing of Durham's White Rock Baptist Church, where her father was the minister, the importance of family, community and service to others. |

| Ada graduated from Durham's renowned Hillside High School and then finished the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in biology, as well as certification to teach Mathematics and Science in the secondary schools. Ada went on to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor at the University of Wisconsin at Madison's Medical School and later continued her education at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health where she received a Masters Degree in Public Health. |
| Long committed to this state, Dr. Fisher elected to return to serve wherever the need was greatest and others reluctant to go from a rural health initiative--The Plain View Health Services of Greenevers, NC (Duplin County) to work as a substance abuse director serving a sixteen county catchments area at the John Umstead Hospital in Butner, NC (Vance County) to the position of Chief of Occupational Health Services at the W. G. "Bill" Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC (Rowan County). |
| Fisher's work has also taken her from the one on one doctor patient relationships to the titans and insides of Corporate America where she served as an industrial physician for the Y-12 Plant at Oak Ridge, TN's Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc. (now Lockheed Martin) and medical director of Amoco Oil Company, as well as Manager of Medical Policies and Practices for Amoco Corporation. In 2003, expanding on her knowledge and training in dealing with terrorism, Dr. Fisher edited Preparation to Survive A Terrorist Attack A Citizens Advisory which in a concise five dollar twenty-five page booklet giving the average citizen the information needed to Be Prepared. |
| Ada's community activities have included membership on the Rowan Salisbury Board of Education, board membership on the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce and the Salisbury Symphony, NAACP membership and work with the Republican party where she was recently appointed a precinct chairwoman and to the by-laws committee of the National Federation of Republican Women. Her love of history is also embraced by serving on Preservation North Carolina, which is dedicated to preserving the state's historic edifices. Dr. Fisher has been continuously committed to preserving the Historically
Black Colleges and Universities in this state serving on the board of Barber-Scotia College from 1997-1999, working with Livingstone College and its students, as well as volunteering some services to Bennett College. In addition Dr. Fisher has recruited hundreds of students for North Carolina Colleges. Ada is extensively involved with the young people in her community and has inspired, as well as worked to help many go on to higher education. |
| Ada resides in Salisbury and has two sons, Shevin, age 24
and Charles, age 20.
