Salisbury,
NC – “The
thoughtfulness of the U. S. Congress led by Representative Robin Hayes
in reauthorizing bill HR 1412, Traumatic Brain Injury Act, on behalf of
our soldiers is to be commended. The devastation of their lives often
experienced by those so traumatized in war can be appreciated in
numerous news media articles and for those who have visited the
Veteran’s Administration Hospitals or had a loved one come home from war
so injured. North Carolina is fortunate to have four medical schools
with outstanding records of research and treatment of those so
affected.”
Dr. Ada M.
Fisher, Republican Candidate for the North Carolina House District 77
seat further notes, “In the next authorization of the Traumatic Brain
Injury Act, it is hoped that the registry being proposed and services
provided will be extended to citizens so affected whether from strokes,
motorized vehicle mishaps or other trauma to the head. The cost to
society and loss of productive lives from such injuries is a major
source of long-term disability and loss of citizen productivity. This
is something that should be examined by the state legislature as well.
I pledge to examine ways to utilize my medical experience to help in
this regard for this affects more people than is often being
appreciated.” |
